Jae Studios Launches Early Morning Tai Chi Classes for Seattle’s Tech Workforce
November 29, 2024
Jae Studios, a boutique enrichment studio in South Lake Union, announces the launch of specialized morning Tai Chi classes designed to help desk workers start their day with movement instead of emails. Starting December 2, the intimate 10-person classes will run at 6:45 AM, offering tech professionals an alternative morning routine steps away from Seattle’s major tech offices.
Led by Jeffrey Daniel, a martial arts practitioner with 17 years of experience, the program features two distinct classes. Mondays focus on Tai Chi foundations, teaching students to move with natural fluidity, while Fridays specifically address desk worker challenges like tech neck and screen fatigue.
“Through these morning classes, we’re offering tech professionals a way to transition mindfully from sleep to screen time,” says Jeffrey Daniel, who brings 8 years of teaching experience to Jae Studios. “The practice helps students cultivate techniques for managing stress while becoming more confident and capable in their bodies.”
The 75-minute classes integrate:
- Gentle movements to prepare for desk work
- Posture improvement techniques
- Mindful breathing practices
- Simple exercises that can be repeated at the desk
The boutique classes, limited to 10 participants, are held at Jae Studios’ South Lake Union location, convenient to Google, Meta, Amazon, and the Gates Foundation offices. The studio’s proximity to major bus lines makes it accessible for morning commuters.
